Mahalo,
I’m listening to Radiohead’s Creep the acoustic version from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Because it was such an epic song and because I’m like in this weird space of smiling in fits and starts and coping with grief all over again. Sigh.
Did I say life sucks some days?
And I very much, very much, appreciate all the Postmates who reached out to me with their condolences. Thank you, Postmate. You truly are a comfort to me in this weird life I’m leading. (And I hope I am to you).
So, writing to you is a joy I do not take lightly, Postmate. So here goes a very short note on all the things I’ve done the last week for you.
But, first, a poll.
Please do answer the above poll so I can plan my letters better and be well, more accountable to both of us - you and me. Lol. I may not always be consistent but I try my best, don’t I? :)
I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to do my best and it kinda looks like this, Postmate.
Watch The Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 on Sunday with my family and weep copiously at some of the most excellent, horrifying storytelling I’ve seen come out of Marvel and movies, in general
Read Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and Remain Nameless by HeyJude, some vintage Nora Roberts, and Ana Huang’s Twisted Games in anticipation of writing Crave. (One’s about horses and a horse race and the others got smut scenes that had me fanning myself and thinking up new ways to make Nashit and Pehel boink!
Plot. The. Whole. Crave. Book. well, apart from about four chapters that will possibly write themselves. (fingers crossed)
Make this cute manifest-y kinda post on IG because I am also trying to do my best on all kinds of Aarti V Raman business. Including socials, Tiktok, my cherished TWGL and, yes, all of them books!
Listen to the GOTG new soundtrack on repeat as I pace relentlessly around the house (walking out is a no-no since the sun and humidity is boiling us alive right now) and make the last Ruthless Billionaires book as epic as I possibly can while keeping myself sane.
That is all I have for this version of The Writer Gal Letter, Postmate. I’ll be back next week with some sale news and other updates.
Till then, hold tight to your loved ones and be a weirdo.
Xx
Aarti
