I’m writing this edition of The Writer Gal Letter listening to Gold Guns Girls by Metric. It’s a very punkish Twilight vibesy song and I’m mulling where it fits into the next story I must write :D (Sometimes it is SO GLAMOROUS being a writer ya know with all the words not magically writing themselves!).

My favorite thing about Nihaal and Mili is how they use their words to cement their relationship and deepen their love for each other. I mean, I am not this level of awesomely communicative about my needs, Postmate. But it was so sweet to see this glimpse into how the fiery fixer and the ice-cold F1 racer are tripping over themselves and healing with each other while still being on FIRE for each other!
Here’s a sneak peek into that fire and the sweetness and angsty emotions Nihaal and Mili experience in Beginnings…
“I wanted you,” I said almost soundlessly.
I spoke looking out the window, watching the tarmacked national highway give way to the planned roads of Chandigarh city. After which we’d be on our way to the Himalayas and the mountain town of Manali, where Ziya was currently overseeing the creation of yet another homestay in the Goonj Homestay chain.
“I wanted you so badly I was willing to marry you for it,” I confessed. “When I swore to myself, I’d never marry anyone. I’d never even fall in love.”
Nihaal stilled but didn’t look up from his phone.
I knew I had his attention. A thick ball rose up in my throat and lodged there. But I swallowed past the shame and the secret desire to stay alone so I didn’t have to do this – be this naked with anyone – and told him everything.
Our marriage, our relationship was fast becoming the lodestone of my existence. It wasn’t the only important thing, of course. I was still highly ambitious too but…I wanted to see what we’d build together more than anything.
Nihaal removed his glasses.
I sucked a breath in at the force of feeling in his golden ichor eyes. I was blasted by the heat in them, the sheer depth of what shone from him.
“You blew into my life like inverted G-forces, Mili. I stood no chance against you. Not one. And I wasn’t…”
Newlyweds Nihaal and Mili are on their way to a romantic honeymoon destination in the snow-capped Himalayan mountains. All Formula One driver Nihaal wants is to flirt with his wife and show her how much he loves her. Even if it means braving the wrath of her family.
