Mahalo Postmate,
I am listening to Bright from the Julie and the Phantoms Soundtrack as I write this edition of The Writer Gal Letter. This song basically helped me craft Millionaire Foes’ Reunion, the Foes’ novella that’s going to the moon.
Speaking of going to the moon, I am not sure if you, Postmate, know this fun fact about me.
In 2020, I was picked in a lottery system by the Writers on the Moon project to be part of the FIRST ever commercial cargo to go to OUR MOON.
I made a time capsule containing all the favorite things my heart could contain in 20 MB (including the then-released Millionaire Foes) and sent it off. And a few weeks ago, I finally got my boarding pass confirming my manifest number and everything else.
Here’s the boarding pass pic. Just for you.
My new favorite sports movie - Toolsidas Junior
The universe is a mysterious benefactor, Postmate. I’ve been down the rabbit hole of driving and racing movies and books, (my current read is The Death of Ayrton Senna in that exact corner that wins Nihaal his race in Burn) and I happened to catch this pretty little gem of a movie on Netflix.
It’s about a spunky teenage boy trying to make his father proud by winning a snooker championship. It was so warm and affirming because it touched on so many beautiful things in a father-son relationship, a coach-athlete dynamic, and even a boy-girl romance! Most of all, it showed me - the eternal writer of all things dark and dysfunctional and daddy issues - the warm and sweet side of family relationships written super well.
THE BEST PART, Postmate, is that this movie was set in 90’s Calcutta AND features The Calcutta Sports Club!
I swear to you, when I wrote Burn, I picked a name out of thin air for the Sports and Turf Club featuring in Nihaal and Nashit’s books, and to now have it show up in the movies, feels like the universe gently patting me on the back and saying - tell these stories with all your angsty little heart!
I have a new favorite sports movie, Postmate. And I urge you to catch it too!
Or, failing that, you can always read Burn :P
Blaze’s Cover revealed in all its glory
There it is. The conclusion to all the sexy, stormy, confusing, chaotic, and dramatic ups and downs of Nihaal and Mili’s marriage of convenience. Filled with just a little death to keep things interesting.
I’ll have a proper blurb up for you and a release date as soon as I make a little more headway with the writing of the book. But until then, please do admire this gorgeous stunner of a cover :D
And pre-order the book here!
Also, thank you, Postmate, for going back and reading Drake and Anya’s story in Claim after Burn. I cannot BELIEVE how much love this series is getting! <3
A Drake-Anya Novella Announcement
Speaking of Drake and Anya, I have a surprise announcement just for you, Postmate. Mostly, because I decided this a few days ago.
As you know, I’m part of the Shades of Love anthology releasing next year just in time for Valentine’s Day. And I have been wracking my brains trying to figure out which of my awesome couples to write about for this collection. I thought I’d do a whole new story with a brand new couple but I already have so many incredible people whose stories are still being told. Right?
Then, came the most delicious dilemma: which couple do I choose to write about? (Answer: all of them, but that’s not doable, no?)
And then, as I saw the haldi ceremony scene in Bridgertons Season 2 and wrote the non-mehendi Mili scene in Burn…I just knew I had to revisit my angsty couple Drake and Anya. And, through them the Geeky brothers Kit and Shiv too. I’m pretty sure a Royal or two, for sure One Mercenary Protector, and a few Foes are going to show up too, but YEP, I’m doing a Drake/Anya-focused novella which will conclude The Ruthless Billionaires series.
DO NOT WORRY, Postmate. I have MANY MANY MANY amazing things planned that will still be a part of the Ruthless Billionaires and give you all the Drake, Nihaal, and Nashit your heart needs! Because, well, my heart needs it, tbh.
Shades of Love is still eons away and we have a TON of other stories and releases to get through before it comes. I just thought I’d give you a heads-up so you can pre-order this book baby for just 99c.
Also, I know I promised Dan and Nick and Nate will be a part of this billionaires series, and I haven’t forgotten that. They’re still billionaires…and they will remain thus for all time. :) More on them super soonnnnn…. :)
Writer Gal’s Writer Pals Present
This week I have a new release by my girl Zoe Beth Gellar and a cowboy romance boxset on sale from Ann Harrison and a personal recommendation! And, of course, my usual freebies and sale events.
Zoe’s Benched By The Nanny is the fifth in her super popular Maine Maulers hockey series. And this one? The hot single dad jock got the nanny fired from her last gig. Cue. Up. The ANGST! Get it now?
Ann writes ridiculously cute cowboys set in Outback Australia. Armchair travel for the best kind of win, because a happy ever after is guaranteed! And she has a mind-blowing backlist for you to plow through once you’ve gobbled this boxset up.
Lastly, this is my personal recommendation. Kennedy Ryan writes some of the realest romances I’ve had the pleasure of reading. And this boxset is SO GOOD with all the feels romance! It’s available on KU. Get The Hoops Boxset now.
This is it from me for this edition of TWGL, Postmate. I’ll see you super soon with more book news and life updates!
Till then, stay safe and hydrated,
xx
