I’m listening to Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake (the Timbaland version) as I write this edition of The Writer Gal Letter, Postmate. And it is because I’m heartsick this Tuesday. But this is very much a glass half-full TWGL so let me just get on with the glass half-empty part of the edition.

We had the cremation for my friend today, a few hours ago and now I’m….numb/bereft/sad/disbelieving/determined/stoic? Is there a word for all of this? Tell me.

The other reason I’m heartsick is because, over the weekend, Amazon in its infinite wisdom, categorized Claim as an erotic romance. While the book is in no way clean or wholesome (with no mentions of kissing or open-page sex) it is most definitely not erotica, is it? I mean, I aspire to be EL James-level famous but I am not writing Christian Grey, am I? :P

So, I have been slogging it out with the good people who send me my royalties and getting the book back in the proper categories. Because, what happens when a book goes into erotica categories? It becomes hidden on Amazon India. So, any India Postmates who are unable to see Claim AND Crave (yeah, the book that is on pre-order) now know why.

Your girl got dinged. :/ And I have to wait and see what Amazon reps have to say about the contents of the book and if it can come back on Amazon India.

Okay, mope time’s up. Deep breaths. Smiles manically. (Just go with me, okay?)

First up, Score! has been proofed and sent off for printing.

And I still don't have the final cover. We are awaiting blurbs from some pretty cool peeps to make THAT splashy announcement. Score is my Only Murders in The Building set in the world of International Cricket (India’s OBSESSION) with a whole dash of enemies to lovers spice. And it is SUPER funny (like the main characters - Bee and Arhan - crack me up!)

Secondly, I am... Well... A bit tired from what’s happened in May. And so to cheer myself up, I planned a Millionaire Foes happy ever after novel. Because nothing makes my heart happy like Jamie, Ansh, Mason, Jordan, Jake, Gabriel, Adrian and Roark do.

And guess what? I'm writing it too! So I'll be sharing more about that super soon. (like maybe next week soon)! (And, hint: you'll see more heroes of future books popping up there 😍)

A Crave Epiphany

So, I have been doing a lot of thinking - ALL of May - on Crave. And I kept wondering why I haven’t been able to write and finish the damn book. And then it hit me. It’s because I have been trying to wrangle the story into submission (like the Millionaire Foes and Royals and Protectors) when it wanted to be told a certain way.

I basically wanted the story to be just about Nashit and Pehel’s epic romance (which it is) but it is about ALL the Ruthless Billionaires and more in terms of plot and story and action! I had this inspiration about doing an Avengers Moment with the story (because it needs a lot of moving parts to come together) and writing it that way. And voila! The words have started appearing like magic in my head.
